Serrated blades that improve your production
Serrated knives are versatile and have the capacity to cut various materials efficiently. The choice of serrated knife design is essential to ensure and improve production efficiency and quality. We design serrated knives to optimise your production processes. We minimise downtime. We increase the overall productivity of your operations.
Types of serrated blades
Serrated knives

The geometry of the teeth determines the cutting efficiency. It also determines the quality of the cut and the blade’s lifespan. With a serrated blade, 2 angles are important, the angle of the tooth and the angle of the grind. The right combination of these different factors together with analysis of your product to be cut will produce the right design.
Perforation knives

Serrated knives with perforation function are specifically designed for applications where materials need not only to be cut, but provided with perforation lines. This type is ideal for packaging production, where easy opening, tear line or breathing of the package is required.

Our approach

Our team carries out a thorough analysis of your current situation on site. Based on this, we can suggest adjustments to improve your production.
Lifespan
Is your focus on maximising stand time and reducing frequent replacements and maintenance? Because a machine lying idle costs money. We aim to extend the life of your blade. To do this, we use the right material, design and any coating.
Cut quality
Is cutting efficiency and quality of cut of paramount importance? Or a combination of stand time and quality, then together we will look for the optimal composition of your blade.
Safety
The safety of your workers is paramount. By choosing durable blades, you reduce maintenance and blade replacement. This significantly reduces the risk of a work accident. We also offer the service of keeping your knife in stock for fast delivery. This way, your production remains guaranteed.
Serrated blades in action
Serrated blades for packaging of supermarket chain
A well-known Belgian supermarket chain called on our experience for the packaging of their grated cheese. Sometimes the packaging had to be perforated and fully cut on the same machine. An operator therefore had to make precise adjustments for each production run. This caused loss of time, waste and in some cases damage to the blade.
We worked out a specific concept, requiring only one simple adjustment to adjust the machine correctly. On top of improved lifespan and cutting quality, we also ensured production efficiency and reduced waste.
Serrated blades for plastic extrusion
A leading plastic film extrusion company used our insights to improve their cutting application. A long knife bar with several segments had to cut the plastic film. Due to the different segments, the film was poorly cut and pressure came to bear on the knife bar, causing it to break.
Thanks to our design, cutting quality increased and pressure on the blade bar was better distributed, preventing it from breaking. An improvement in quality and production efficiency.

FAQ Serrated Knives
Where can you buy serrated knives?
Serrated knives are available through industrial tool suppliers and specialist companies offering cutting solutions for specific industries. We offer customised serrated knives in addition to a standard range. Adjusting the blade to the material to be cut will improve quality and stand time.
How long do serrated knives last?
With serrated knives, the lifespan depends on the toothing. Here, it is important to strike a balance between: quality of cut, stand time and material penetration. This is why we specialise in customised serrated knives that find the perfect balance between these parameters depending on the application.
How often should you sharpen serrated knives?
Serrated knives should be checked regularly depending on how often they are used. Given the complex toothing of serrated knives, sharpening them is very difficult and not recommended.
How should you sharpen serrated knives?
Given the complex gearing of serrated knives, which usually consists of several sharp teeth designed in a specific way to cut through various materials, sharpening them is very difficult and not recommended. It requires not only specialised equipment, but also considerable skill and experience to ensure that the teeth are not damaged, which could significantly reduce the functionality of the knife. Therefore, it is often better to simply replace serrated knives designed for long-term use when they become blunt.
